I spent New Year's in New York this year, and as part of my amazing 2 weeks there, I took part in a 5 way painting collaboration.

5 of us (Mike Perry, Josh Cochran, Damien Correll, Leif Parsons and myself)put up 5 large blank canvases on the walls, and spent the entire night roaming freely between all 5 canvases, each of us spending time on each of the canvases.

The results are varied, but what I can tell you, is that it was an awful lot of fun.

Heavy Pencil at Pick me up Somerset house, last night, was absolutely brilliant.

This is my band, Slack Lemon. I'm on the left, trying to see my bass guitar through all the silver tinsel in my eyes. More photos soon.

Hello.

It's been a while since my last entry, but I have lots to show you, so please keep coming back.

Here's an image I just did for `Newsweek to commemorate 50 years of the Beatles.

Also, look at the COMMERCIAL section to see some images I just finished for the Ikea blog, www.happytobed.com

November 21, 2011

A while ago I was approached by It's Nice That, and Asos, to create an image that would go on to a T-shirt, but also adorn a 12" picture disc vinyl record.

I also created a piece of music to go on the record. This is my first ever single! It is called 'Time and Space'.

Other artists who are involved include Supermundane, Chris Pell, Robert Hunter and Tim Moore.

For more details on the project, visit www.itsnicethat.com and asos.com.

Hello.

I did this T-shirt design for Lazy Oaf. Never worked for them before, but I hope to work with them some more. There's a launch party for the range that this tee belongs to. It's called the Drawing club, and it's on Friday 25th November from 6-9pm at Shop 25, Hanbury street, London, E16QR. There will be other tees there by the likes of Marcus Oakley, Andy Rementer, Burgerac and Tom Edwards.

I also have a new piece I did for the Guardian on the EDITORIAL section.

September 29, 2011

A few weeks back, I posted about a zine and record cover that I was working on with Jake Blanchard.

This is the cover for the record.

The project is called Menagerie and is a collaboration between musicians and illustrators. The whole thing is being published through Jake's record company and printing press, Tor.

September 22, 2011

Just made this!

September 05, 2011

This is an excellent thing.

Illustrators and wonderful men Matthew Hodson (Matthew the Horse) and Jon Boam (Jon Boam) have launched a site and line of Tees, under the title, 'Spirit of the Animal'. This excellent photo is of a man wearing my design.

The brief was to think about and illustrate a specific relationship we as creative humans, feel we have with our specific Animal spirit.

Other Illustrators and Artists involved include Luke Ramsay, Andy Rementer, Jack Teagle, Jay Cover, Marcus Oakley and Drew Millward, with designs also by Matthew the Horse and Jon Boam, of course.

It's an amazing project, and I strongly urge you to visit their site and blog and buy more than one tee.

I have been working with illustrator Jake Blanchard on the latest edition of his ongoing project Menagerie.

Menagerie is a collaborative music and illustration project that Jake runs through his small press and record label, Tor Press. This is the cover of the zine that will come with issue #3.

We have also collaborated on the front cover of the LP.

August 16, 2011

I have written and illustrated a short story which is in the latest issue of Anorak Magazine.

The story is called 'My Friend Dave' and is about a boy who meets his friend once a week to dig holes, eat sandwiches and cakes.

July 30, 2011

I put this animated gif into an exhibition called 'Animate Everything'.

The show is running at Protein Gallery, 18 Hewett street, London, EC2A 3NN, and is open until August 15th. It's free to look at and other Artists involved include the likes of Parra, Nous Vous, Mimi Leung and INSA.

I'm going to go and see it today.

July 29, 2011

Just finished this for an exciting project coming soon.

July 25, 2011

I've put some music that I have made on soundcloud.

I just back from Hamburg where Mike and I did the mural in the Human Empire shop.

We had no idea how much space was available or what we were allowed to do with the space, and so we couldn't have been happier with what we actually ended up doing. Here are a couple of photos (click on VIEW FULL PROJECT) and there will be better ones coming soon.

We took everything out of the shop for a few days and covered the walls with a sprawling scene of happy people.

We had such an amazing time doing it, so massive thanks to Jan and Wiebke at Human Empire who were so accommodating and made us feel so welcome.

Last week I spent 5 days painting this mural on a wall at Blossom House School, which is an independent school for kids with speech, language and communication difficulties.

The image is based on short stories written by about 50 of the kids as part of their English classes. The stories were AMAZING. So I drew this in pencil on the wall, and over 5 days, about 60 kids helped me paint the outline and fill in the color.

It was a brilliant week. I had so much fun there and met so many amazing people. Thanks to everyone who helped with the organization of it all, and most of all, thanks to everyone who helped me paint it.

I will be playing songs especially written for the night, with my best friend Tom, who I do the podcasts with (tomandjim.co.uk).

It's going to be brilliant. See the flyer below for further details.

Hope to see you there.

I have just done this cover for The Festivals Guide that was available in The Guardian this weekend. I am really please with the print quality. The colors are a good match to the original drawing.

They had a brilliant room at the Pick Me Up art fair at Somerset House full of prints and mini books by lots of different people, all of which are printed on the Risograph machine. They had live demonstrations of how this amazing machine works there too. I love the print quality of the overlying colours. I have a comic being printed with them very soon. This print is also in the COMMERCIAL section.

Loads of stuff I can't tell you about yet, which is annoying, but keep coming back, and I will be abel to show you soon.
