This month's Creative Review features on it's cover, a character that I did for an animation by The Layzell Brothers for Adam Buxton's TV show, BUG. You can also see the full animation in the MOVING IMAGE section of this site.
Also in the MOVING IMAGE section is a time lapse drawing / interview I did a couple of years ago for Don't Panic. I waffle on about 'doodling with intention' which is completely embarrassing, but the time lapse is quite good. Maybe watch it with no sound.
There is a new Podcast up as part of the Porcelain Panther project that I am doing with Ben Newman. You can listen to our newest interview with Mr.Bingo, in the PODCAST section.
And finally, I have put some new pages of my sketchbook up in the SKETCHBOOK section.

I have been writing and recording music in my room for 10 years now, but I have never shown anyone. It was just a hobby, something I enjoyed doing. Now I have decided to share it all. Here are some of the covers for the albums.
You can find all of my music here... jimtheillustrator.bandcamp.com
I also made an animation to promote this music which you can watch in the MOVING IMAGES section.

Welcome to my slightly different but brand new website. There are some new sections for you to look at, listen to and enjoy.
I will be regularly updating this section with all Editorial and Commercial work.
You can also listen to the Podcast that I do with friend, studio mate and fellow Illustrator man, Ben Newman. It's called Newten's Porcelain Panther. The odd name is explained at the beginning of the first Podcast. These Podcasts are informal chats with other creatives. We talk to our guests about their work and their journey from starting out to where they are now, as well as conversing about other matters that give an insight to the inner workings of each individual. Each guest is also asked to choose 3 songs that are played in between the talking. Guests so far have been Andrew Rae, Pete Fowler, Jon Burgerman and Ceri Levy.
Once you've listened to all of those, you can listen to the album that was recorded by the band I am in, 'Owen and the Eyeballs'. The band is Owen Gildersleeve, Nick White, Andrew Rae, and me. We are all Illustrators/Designers/Creative men and so we usually play in wonderful costumes.
You can also see some films and animations that I have been working in the Moving Image section.
Or you can just flick through my Sketchbook.

I spent New Year's in New York this year, and as part of my amazing 2 weeks there, I took part in a 5 way painting collaboration.
5 of us (Mike Perry, Josh Cochran, Damien Correll, Leif Parsons and myself)put up 5 large blank canvases on the walls, and spent the entire night roaming freely between all 5 canvases, each of us spending time on each of the canvases.
The results are varied, but what I can tell you, is that it was an awful lot of fun.

Heavy Pencil at Pick me up Somerset house, last night, was absolutely brilliant.
This is my band, Slack Lemon. I'm on the left, trying to see my bass guitar through all the silver tinsel in my eyes. More photos soon.
